Poonam Singh and Rajni Soni, residing in the vibrant city of Devashish, Rajasthan have transformed their homes and society into living examples of cleanliness and creativity. Poonam, a diligent student who got educatied in Mumbai, and Rajni, a dedicated resident for the past eight years, have emerged as champions of change. Poonam, a resident of Devashish City for six years, used her artistic talents by winning the first prize in pencil art in the sixth grade. After completing her education in Mumbai, Poonam, inspired by positive changes over the years, is bringing waste management practices to her home. In collaboration with FINISH Society and DCM Shriram Foundation’s “Khushhali Swachhata Pariyojana,” she actively advocates for proper waste management, especially during festivals, emphasizing on the principles of cleanliness which comprise the 3Rs, reduce, reuse, and recycle. Poonam and her team, focusing on waste-to-best practices, have established a Waste-to-Best Park, engaging in discussions with the community on optimal waste transformation. Ms. Singh actively participates in the cleanliness and beautification of her home during festivals, using discarded materials to enhance the surroundings. She is now gearing up to contribute to the construction of the West-to-Best Park in the community.
In another corner of Devashish City, Rajni Soni, residing for eight years, is revitalizing her home garden. Using recycled materials and using her deft and creative touch, Rajni breathes new life into old objects, thus transforming the objects d’art into a unique garden. Her dedication to hygiene and creativity has become an inspiration for her neighbors. Thanks to her efforts, Ms. Soni’s endeavors have become talking points in the area. She has become a beacon of change in her community, demonstrating that with a bit of creativity and commitment, anyone can transform even the simplest places into something extraordinary.
