A Proud Moment for the FINISH Family

We are extremely proud to share that our mentor Theo Brouwers was conferred with one of the Netherlands’ most prestigious civilian honours, the Order of Orange-Nassau (Knighthood), by the Government of the Netherlands last Monday. Following this honour, he will now be formally addressed as “Sir Theo Brouwers.”

This recognition is a tribute to his lifelong commitment and global leadership in the fields of sanitation, public health, and social transformation.

On this occasion, Sir Theo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the FINISH team, sharing that the nomination for this honour was initiated by FINISH, with several team members contributing their valuable insights and strong support. He recalled with pride the moment during the ceremony when the Mayor highlighted his work with FINISH, calling it one of the most meaningful moments of his life. Sir Theo reaffirmed his unwavering support for all efforts aimed at improving sanitation and human health and his commitment to continue spreading awareness wherever possible. He also extended warm wishes to the FINISH family and friends for Christmas and a healthy, positive New Year 2026.

On behalf of the entire FINISH family, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sir Theo Brouwers on this historic honour and express our deep gratitude for his continued guidance, inspiration, and trust.
His dedication continues to inspire us to move forward towards a cleaner, healthier, and more equitable future.
